'The Boys' Star Erin Moriarty Shares Graves' Disease Diagnosis

The Boys star Erin Moriarty has shared some serious news on social media. According to Erin Moriarty, who plays the fan-favorite character Starlight in the hit Amazon Prime series The Boys , she has been officially diagnosed with Graves' disease. Moriarty made the announcement via Instagram, where she also took the opportunity to share some words of inspiration for others that might be dealing with similar health issues. 'Autoimmune disease manifests differently in everybody/every body,' she opens her statement with. 'Your experience will be different from mine. My experience will be different from yours. Perhaps greatly, perhaps minutely,' she adds. 'One thing I can say: if I hadn't chalked it all up to stress and fatigue, I would've caught this sooner.' At this point, Erin Moriarty explains the situation with his Graves' disease diagnosis: 'A month ago, I was diagnosed with Graves' disease. Within 24 hours of beginning treatment, I felt the light coming back on. It's been increasing in strength ever since. If yours is dimming, even slightly, go get checked. Don't 'suck it up' and transcend suffering; you deserve to be comfy. Shit's hard enough as is.' Graves' disease is an immune system condition that specifically effects the thyroid gland. As shared via Mayo Clinic, it 'causes the body to make too much thyroid hormone.' Although these diagnoses are certainly unfortunate news for anyone that receives them, it's nice seeing Moriarty is already feeling better and receiving the care that she needs to battle the disease. Likewise, it's nice to see her share words of wisdom for anyone dealing with similar situations. It absolutely is hard enough without the opportunity to feel comfortable with your personal health. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding Erin Moriarty and the Amazon Prime series The Boys as we have them. The Boys will return for a fifth and final season that has yet to receive an official release date, with several spin-off projects also in the works.

Beloved 80s Movie Getting Sequel Nearly 40 Years Later

Hollywood is once again revisiting a beloved movie from the 80s by producing a sequel. This time, however, the long-awaited follow-up likely isn't what you'd expect to see. In fact, the film appears to be an outright parody of such Hollywood business decisions, many of which have been satirized in the below teaser. Fans of this original sci-fi parody from 1987 are going to receive as much self-aware humor and satire as they can handle. The world of sci-fi and merchandising has only become more saturated since the release of the original film. The above teaser points that out quite clearly. As such, there are plenty of opportunities for this new follow-up to make fun of the current entertainment industry while also respecting the hilarious story and characters featured in the classic movie. Here's the teaser as shared by the one and only Mel Brooks: I told you we'd be back — Mel Brooks (@MelBrooks) June 12, 2025 'I told you we'd be back,' Brooks write in the caption for the video where he confirms his own return as Yogurt in the new film. As shared via Deadline, in addition to Brooks as Yogurt, the film is said to also include the return of Bill Pullman as Lone Starr and even Rick Moranis as Dark Helmet. Keke Palmer is also said to be joining the cast, along with Pullman's own son Lewis Pullman. Josh Greenbaum will direct the film while the screenplay was written by Benji Samit, Dan Hernandez, and Josh Gad. Additionally, Gad is believed to be starring in the film alongside the other aforementioned cast members. One can imagine other beloved cast members, such as Daphne Zuniga who played Princess Vespa, might also make a return. The long-awaited sequel to the 80s movie classic Spaceballs , which currently does not have a title, is scheduled to hit theaters sometime in 2027. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the highly-anticipated follow-up as we have them. At the very least, it sounds like this film will carry on the satirical spirit of the original cult classic.

Toxic SnyderVerse Fans Prompt James Gunn To Respond Over 'Superman' Boycott

The DC Universe will be fully kicked off with the release of James Gunn's Superman . The new wave of franchise films and shows will take over from the failed attempt at a franchise prior, which started off with Zack Snyder's Man of Steel . Now with a toxic group of SnyderVerse fans attempting to boycott James Gunn's Superman , Gunn has issued his own response. Snyder fans have had varying levels of success with their attempts to restore Zack Snyder's vision for the DC franchise. Fans were able to convince Warner Bros. to allow Zack Snyder the opportunity to finish his own cut of Justice League . Further attempts failed, however, including their desire to have David Ayer's original Suicide Squad cut released or their movement to have Zack Snyder create all-new Justice League sequels. Now, some Snyder fans are attempting to simply ruin the fun for everyone, with a boycott being placed to ruin the success of James Gunn's Superman . While the film is paving the way to be a behemoth at the box office, some fans are eager to disrupt its chances at being a success, with one fan on Reddit having shared the following message that has since been deleted via CBM: 'Fight for our Snyderverse on the imposter Superman release day. Here's what we can do to make a difference 1. Post spoilers everywhere. People are less likely to see or enjoy the movie if it's already spoiled 2. Leave bad rating on review sites. We know for sure gunbots will post fake positive reviews so we must let people know the truth and balance the bias out with realistic scores. 3. Reserve tickets online but don't complete the purchase. By selecting and reserving tickets, it gets taken out of the pool for a period of time which means this has a chance of stopping gunbots from buying tickets Gun fired the first shot and killed the Snyderverse and here is our chance to take the fight back to him.' While some fans are acknowledging the toxic behavior and apologizing on behalf of the Zack Snyder fanbase, and others are worried that it could have an impact on Superman , Gunn doesn't seem to have any worries. In fact, he made a response on Threads to note that 'we'll survive.' 'lol I think we'll survive. I'm not sure the eight people that listen to that guy (I'm going to go out on a limb and guess it's a guy) are going to impact the course of events.' James Gunn's Superman will be hitting theaters on July 11, 2025. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates on the highly-anticipated blockbuster as we have them.

2025's Biggest Box Office Bomb Dominates Disney Plus

Streaming services are often a great place for films to have a second chance. After all, for whatever reason, a movie might not do well in theaters but still find an audience after its initial release. Now one such movie, which is so far 2025's biggest box office bomb, is dominating the charts at Disney Plus. This particular film was not only a financial failure but it was also critically panned. With a budget ranging between $240 million and $270 million, it only made $205.6 million at the box office. Of course, it was followed by plenty of controversy during its production, so many moviegoers were expecting low numbers. However, they might not have expected the film to blow up on Disney Plus, at the time of this writing, that the film is currently the number one movie globally on Disney Plus. This 2025 effort from director Marc Webb is none other than Snow White , an adaptation of the classic 1937 Disney film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs , itself based on the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale Snow White . Rachel Zegler stars as the titular character, with her ethnicity and comments about the original film prompting controversy during the movie's production. Other controversies broke out along the way, including debate regarding the film's iconic Seven Dwarfs, and whether or not they should be portrayed by little people. Ultimately the characters were created using digital animation. There were also previous reports that the film nearly replaced the dwarfs entirely with a band of thieves. Ultimately, it looks like Snow White is finding new viewership after being added to Disney Plus. Though whether or not people are watching to complain about the film without having to pay for theaters, or if it really is building an audience, all remains to be seen. As with any panned movie, there are fans of Snow White , so they'll no doubt be happy to see the film break these numbers. Snow White is now available to stream via Disney Plus. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the latest Disney endeavors and trending titles on streaming.

Blumhouse Officially Gets 'Saw' Rights With James Wan & Leigh Whannell Involved

The Saw film franchise has been in a difficult time following the success of Saw X . In fact, it was unclear if fans were ever getting an eleventh Saw movie. Now things have taken a turn for the better with the announcement that Blumhouse has acquired the rights to the Saw franchise. As shared via Deadline, this deal will also allow James Wan and Leigh Whannell to return to the franchise in a creative capacity. Though details are being kept under wraps at this time, this is all due to Blumhouse's acquisition of the rights owned by Twisted Pictures. Lionsgate still owns the other 50% of the franchise and they will continue to be involved as a partner. Fans of the franchise are quite familiar with James Wan's contributions, having specifically directed the original 2004 film that started it all. Leigh Whannell, on the other hand, operated as a co-writer on the 2004 movie alongside Wan. Whannell returned to contribute his writing to Saw II , later writing Saw III based on a story he co-wrote with Whannell, and thus passing the series off to new creators with Saw IV . Wan continued to receive an executive producer credit on the following films, though he was no longer involved creatively. Now that Blumhouse has the rights to the Saw franchise, this will give Wan an opportunity to be involved once again, especially since his own Atomic Monster label recently merged with the studio. An eleventh Saw film has yet to enter production – though one was previously announced for a September 2025 release date. Big plans are currently being put into place here, however, so we'll likely have more news regarding the franchise's future soon. Saw X recently rejuvenated the brand quite successfully, so hopefully fans will see the series continue in that direction. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the Saw film franchise as we have them – especially now that Blumhouse has acquired Twisted Pictures' share of the rights. Exciting times are ahead for fans of the long-running horror franchise.
